Mariano Porcu

Mariano Porcu is full professor in Social Statistics at the University of Cagliari where he teaches in the faculty of Economy, Law and Political Sciences.

His most recent research interests have been primarily addressed in the framework of university and school system evaluation, on the issues related to technological innovation in school teaching, and on the study of the determinants of students’ achievement. Specifically, his research activity focused on issues related to the methods and models for the measurement of latent variables and the construction of composite and adjusted indicators. About these topics, he is author of articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented his researches in national and international conferences. He has been reviewer of several international journals.

He is also in the research staff of CIRD (Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Education) of the University of Cagliari. Since 2013 he is collaborating with staff of the University of Kentucky, Department of Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation, where he has been visiting researcher.
