AISP aims at promoting knowledge on population and society, publication of reports, and organization of conferences, and it is open to exchanges and collaborations at international level. 
AISP members are constantly updated about conferences, seminars, schools and job or study opportunities that relate to population studies.

The single most relevant AISP initiative is the biennial Population Meeting – Population Days – aiming at promoting the study and the discussion on issues relating to the population and society with a
multidisciplinary approach.

Every other year since 2007, a Report on the Italian Population is published and presented at the Population Days, each time focusing on a different topic, related to the Italian population (e.g. fertility, mortality, migration, …).

AISP has a Scientific Council whose members are elected every other year.

At least once every two years, the AISP President calls the AISP General Assembly.
