The Giornate di Studio sulla Popolazione (Population Days), held every two years, is one of the most important initiatives of the Italian Association for the Study of Population (Sis-AISP).
On that occasion, Italian and international leading experts and scholars, mainly from academia, the National Institute of Statistics (Istat) and other national and governmental agencies, come together to present completed, planned, and ongoing research on issues relating to the population and society with a multidisciplinary approach. Official languages are Italian and English.
The latest edition had around 250 participants who presented about 200 contributions within more than 30 parallel sessions and 2 poster sessions.
CONFERENCE AND SOCIAL MEETING LOCATIONS
The 13th edition of the Population Days will take place at Bocconi University, in Milano, on January 24-26, 2019, specifically:
Parallel and poster sessions will take place at Velodromo (accessible from Piazza Sraffa, ground floor).
The first Plenary Session on Thursday January 24 will take place at the Aula Magna in Via Gobbi, two-minutes walk from Velodromo.
Coffee breaks and lunch buffets during the parallel sessions will be offered in the foyer of Velodromo (at the ground floor).
The Welcome Cocktail will be held on Thursday January 24, at Palazzo Clerici, a charming historical palace located in the heart of Milan, in Via Clerici 5, from 19:00 to 21:30. During the cocktail party, it will be possible to visit the Tiepolo's fresco in the main room of the palace.
The Social Dinner will be held on Friday January 25, at the foyer of the Bocconi Grafton building, in via Rontgen 1, at 20:00. Before the dinner, at 19:00, we are glad to invite you to a guided tour of The Bocconi Art Gallery (BAG), located in the same building.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
In order to start the submission procedure, you are required to login to this conference system with your personal account. Please sign in as “Author” in order to be able to submit a paper.
- If you previously registered in a recent edition of Popdays (i.e.: Firenze, Palermo, Bressanone) you simply need to login using your current username and password. Go to the Login section.
- If you previously registered but you forgot your username and/or password, please use the password recovery procedure through the Login Section. We suggest you to change the authomatic password provided by the system at the first login. If you are not sure if you have registered before, you can contact us.
- If you are a new visitor, you are requested to create a new profile (remember to sign in as “Author”).
Only after the account creation/login is it possible to start the submission procedure (direct link, after login).
Subsequent visits to the website can be made through the Login section
Remember: Authors are asked to include a short abstract in English (max 200 words), plus upload either the extended abstract (2-4 pages) OR the full paper, in English language. Please also include three to five keywords. Please provide the full names, affiliations and e-mail addresses of all co-authors. No author (or co-author) should appear more than twice on the final program.
CONFERENCE REGISTRATION
All presenters at PopDays2019 must be AISP members!
Please check your membership position or contact the AISP secretary before registration (segreteria@sis-aisp.it), then follow these guidelines:
- If you are an AISP member with membership fees REGULARLY paid up to 2018 included: you can register directly on the conference website. Your registration to the conference will include your AISP membership for the year 2019. Go to the registration page.
- If you are an AISP member, but you are late with your membership fees: please settle the payment for previous years (2018 or before) before registration. You can contact AISP secretary (segreteria@sis-aisp.it) or visit the AISP website to regulate your position, then go to the registration page.
- If you are NOT an AISP member: please fill the APPLICATION FORM (download here the Italian or English form), and send it to the Association secretary (segreteria@sis-aisp.it). Then, register to the conference website (you do not need to wait for a reply, we will process your request but in the meanwhile you can proceed with the registration). Your registration to the conference will include your AISP membership for the year 2019.
