Abstract
The basic aim of this paper is to check whether it is possible distinguish workplace types on the basis of relations between family and work in Poland, France, Sweden, Italy and Australia.
In my research I took the perspective of the workplace and its characteristics, which can facilitate different types of life activities and cease work-family tensions. For analysis I chose countries with different institutional and cultural settings with respect to work-family balance.
A theoretical background of the analysis refers to work ability concept (Ilmarinen 1999), which emphasizes the meaning of the balance between work environment and individual potential.
I use two step cluster analysis as a statistical method to identify workplace clusters, conducted for the Gender and Generation Survey (GGS) datasets for the first and second wave.
So far, I have conducted analysis for Poland, where I identified 3 clusters of workplaces connected with work-family balance.
