Giornate di Studio sulla Popolazione (GSP) 2013

Brixen, Faculty of Education (Free University of Bozen)

February 6, 2013 – February 8, 2013

The Giornate di Studio sulla Popolazione (GSP), held every two years, is one of the most important initiatives of the Italian Association for the Study of Population (SIS-AISP). On that occasion, Italian and international leading experts and scholars, mainly from academia, the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) and other national and governmental agencies, come together to present completed, planned, and ongoing research and to provide an opportunity for comparison across a broad overview of the issues currently debated about population and society. Conferences are based on parallel sessions, which in later editions have received voluntary contributions of more than 20 subject areas.

How to arrive to Brixen

By Train
Bressanone is on the international line Monaco-Munich (D) - Verona and every train on this line stops in Bressanone. If you come from another city in Italy, you should pass via Verona. From Verona to Bressanone it takes about 2 hours by train, and you have several trains per day.
There are also a connections using the German railways (see TIME TABLE). In this case you can buy the ticket on line or on board.

By Airplane
Several airports have easy train connections to Bressanone but we strongly recommend Verona (Valerio Catullo) international airport. In any case, if you arrive in any italian airport, you should then take a train which passes through Verona. From Verona airport to the railway-station Verona P.ta Nuova there are shuttle-busses every 20 minutes from 6:30am to 11:35pm. From Verona to Bressanone it takes about 2 hours by train, and you have several trains per day.
There are also connections from some italian airport to Bolzano airport. Bolzano and Bressanone are few kilometers away and you could probably get a taxi to get to the Bozen centre.

By car

Take the highway “Autostrada A22 del Brennero” and exit at “Chiusa” (recommended). The town centre is just a few kilometres (about 8 km to the North) from the highway.

You can find more information HERE.

A touristic map of Brixen is available HERE.
